orange coffee tonic

When we were in Chania, one of our favourite coffee shops was Pol Brew and they've got cold brew on the menu. The secret ingredient? _Orange zest_. So simple but SO good. This recipe is a combination of a pretty standard cold brew technique, our own favourite spicy water variant of that, and the Pol Brew orange zest addition.

_Notes_

  • Batch freeze orange zest every time you buy oranges! It keeps super well in the freezer and you can just drop it into your coffee tonic when ready

  • We really love the Fever Tree light tonic, specifically because we don't want the sweetness to overpower the coffee

ingredients

  • Good coffee beans!

  • Filtered water

  • Fever Tree Light Tonic

  • Orange zest

steps

  1. Coarse grind 50-60g of coffee beans, add a little under 1L of water and wait for 12 hours

  2. Remove the coffee grounds and you've got yourself concentrated cold brew!

  3. To make the orange coffee tonic - do a roughly 2-3 ratio of light tonic to cold brew and top with orange zest
